Skills & Passions

What I can do.

What I want to do.

Operation Get to Work,

is the fourth-month operation in Apogee Strong. Essentially, it enlists the participant to create a list of their skills and passions. What they love, what gives them purpose, and what they know they can do.

I tend to sway to the more creative side. I wouldn't say "flowy" or "flexible," but I enjoy projects more when they require me to be as my Creator. He creates, therefore, being made in his image, I do the same. This is not an excuse to avoid saying I'm not good at more rigid topics such as math. I'm just better at making new things and creating than using systematic arrangements that have proven correct over time.

So what is my chosen and desired career? What do I want to do?

Passions -

First, a list of my passions and skills, then we can move on with them in mind. I'll use the broadest of terms to make it easier for everyone. Natural skills will have an asterisk next to them.

- Writing*

- Art*

- Design*

- Photography*

- Inventing

- Constructing

- Reading*

- Sports and Health*

- Music*

- Cooking/Cuisine*

Now, I can list jobs that fit these passions:

- A Writer

- A Restaurant Owner

- An Artist

- An Editor

- A Graphic Designer

-  An Interior Designer

-  A Journalist

- A Musician

- A Photographer

- An Inventor

- A Publisher

- An Author

- Architect

- Product Designer

- Pastor/Church Music Director

Now obviously, entrepreneurship should be on the list. I didn't add it, however, because that's the job of making a business, and in order to do most of these jobs, I would need a business. Although I love the idea of working for someone, having my own business is something I've always placed on the uppermost pedestal in regard to business.

I find that the best businesses are the ones that make something easier and more convenient. I often find, however, that the products are cheap, unattractive, and boring to use. If I could combine artistic skill, wonderful summaries, and writing, and unique, fun inventiveness into a single, sleek and convenient product, that would be my ultimate business.

As you can imagine, this tactic could be used in food, art, and physical handheld products. The world needs more truth, goodness, and beauty both in physical products and spirit.
