Travels and Photos

A Brief Bit On Our Travels

My family has been to a lot of places. Even while my brother and I were in the womb, we were walking the impressive beach of Railay Bay in Thailand. Since we were born, however, we have journeyed across the globe to numerous cultures, and unfortunately, I only began photography in 2021. Even so, I have still captured some of the breathtaking places on our planet and will continue to do so as we travel elsewhere.

In Hawaii, we came to hunt the elusive Axis Deer (not really, there are 50,000 on the island of Molokai). Still, I came with my camera and captured sunrises, waves, roses, fruits, and all that the island paradise has to offer. I also came back with a cooler full of deer meat!

The United States is full of biomes, one of my favorites being South Carolina. Here the trees are full of Spanish Moss, and the alligators swim through the wetlands. Some birds, such as the spoonbill, I didn't know existed, but wish I had. It was a fun trip, full of thunderstorms and southern grits.

Arizona is a very strange place. For me, it felt like an alien world. The tall rock formations and enormous canyons are testimonies to God's great creation. While I was there, I hiked 12 miles to Plateau Point in the Grand Canyon. With over a mile of steep descent in and out, this hike was supposed to take eight hours, we did it in four.

Every year, the family on our mom's side go to a special, traditional beach along the coast of Oregon. Seaside is always amazing, between the sand-castle contests, candy stores, and swimming in the frigid Pacific Ocean, there's always so much to do. The memories I have with my family at Seaside makes it one of my favorite places.

Our Christmas gift for our Grandma and Grandpa was a trip to Kentucky. Both our grandparents love horses, farms, pastures, and the golden fields. We had a fantastic time, and I even won 30 dollars at the horse races! We stayed in a farmhouse at the Kentucky Castle just outside of Lexington, a truly spectacular property.

Biking around Tuscany is not an experience I'll soon forget. This is especially true for my legs. Some of the hills would stretch for dozens of kilometers and 15% grades. But, at the top, there was always a medevial city to explore. However I think the best part was the Gelato.

These are but a few of the places we've been. In the future, my brother and I are going to embark on a "gap year."During this year, I am going to travel the globe with my camera and work for families, help charities, go on hikes and enjoy God's wondrous world. I plan to go to New Zealand, Scotland, and Iceland as my top three.
